DJ Lag and Que DJ drop single “Where’s Your Father?”
This is the first time that the gqom pioneers have worked together.
DJ Lag and Que DJ have dropped their collaborative single “Where’s Your Father?” today via the latter’s Amagogogo Sounds.
“The idea for the song came when I was DJing at a club,” DJ Lag says. “Que and my best friend Skoro were there and Que just took the mic and started saying, ‘Where’s your father, where’s your mother?’”
Speaking on working with DJ Lag, Que DJ stated: “We are considered as the gqom originators and so this collaboration is only befitting personally. I’ve always wanted to work with DJ Lag and now we’ve finally found the time to make it happen.”
Earlier this year, DJ Lag released his debut album Meeting With The King, while Que DJ appeared on Boiler Room’s event in Johannesburg.
